HAWAIIAN PICNIC HIGHLIGHTS

LCFT held its Annual Summer Picnic on Sunday, July 7th 2019, at the Bruce Mills Conservation in Stouffville. With over 250 attendees, Community members and friends enjoyed a great day out together and participated in it whole heartedly by wearing their favourite Floral attire to give a nice charm to the Hawaiian theme.

This year’s Picnic featured for the very first time a Hawaiian Theme, Ice Cream Truck and Bollywood Zumba for the Youth and Adults. Our President Deval Chandarana was at hand to give Colorful Hawaiian Garlands to all attendees and a shot of Pineapple Juice at Registration.

Community members also enjoyed the lovely music provided by DJ Ramji including many members dancing to the tunes with some silky steps and Zumba moves!

We also wish to thank the following for their contributions towards making this event a success, filled with fun, laughter and great memories:

  • Our Convenors Amar & Kajal Gadhia, who did a wonderful job in organizing the event

  • To Jashwant Bhai Saujani and his Team for making the tasty Makai (corn), Sambharo & Masala Chai

  • To Gadhia & Raja Family of Kenya & Tanzania for providing the Chai & Chai Masala

  • To all our Gold, Silver, Bronze and Medallion sponsors for your continued support towards donating to the LCFT

  • To Badiani family of Kisumu, Kenya for their generous donation towards the Picnic

  • To Ambrish Bhai Thakkar & Nina Romano for providing the tents and allowing us to work in the shade

  • To Paresh Bhai Manek for providing the tasty Chaas to cool us down on the hot day

  • To Jalsa Kitchen for catering a tasty hot cooked meal for the event

  • To all the LCFT committee members, spouses and volunteers that helped to set up in the morning and during the Picnic including many Youth Volunteers from our community. Your help was priceless and very much appreciated!

  • A very big thank you to all Community Members and Friends who attended the Picnic and have supported the LCFT in all the events to make every event a success. Without you, this would not have been possible

FOOD DRIVE

This year also saw the Food Drive kick off in earnest at the Picnic with Community members encouraged not to bring any food to the Picnic and instead donate towards the Food Drive. With the support of the Community members, an amazing food collection was done at the Picnic and a total of $359 raised! "Kudos to our Food Drive Leads Neena & Nikin Popat for leading this event!!"
